Gazprom says to put Kovykta gas field into operation in December
MOSCOW, Sep 19 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom will supply gas from the Kovykta field to the Kovykta–Chayanda main pipeline on October 25 and the field will be put into operation in the second half of December, the company said in a statement in its Telegram channel on Monday.
“It was recorded today at a brief meeting … that gas from the Kovykta field will be supplied to the Kovykta–Chayanda trunk gas pipeline for pre-commissioning work on October 25. … The launch of the field will take place in the second half of December,” the company said.
The launch of the field will significantly expand the resource base in the east of the country to supply gas to Russian consumers and for exports, the company said.
The Kovykta field is the largest in Eastern Siberia field, with recoverable reserves of 1.8 trillion cubic meters of gas and 65.7 million tonnes of gas condensate.
